Presenting the Two Old Goats

Almost 20 years ago, tune-smith and song-writer, Charlie Burton was a traveling minstrel. In his eighties album, Take My Picks he created a mix of classic pop songs and originals that were perky and kind on the ears.
At the same time, a long haired producer and session musician named Colin Newell was dabbling in the Victoria music scene. After a couple of failed hair bands and some modest success producing a couple of folk albums, he signed off from the music biz.

The two of them hung up their guitars and microphones…
forever…
or so they thought.
Fast forward to the 21st century…
After a fateful meeting at a benefit concert for a dearly departed colleague (Christine Adkin); Charlie was the singer – Colin was the sound engineer, some wheels were set in motion.
Colin convinced Charlie to come out of moth-balls, dust off the guitar – and in return, Colin would re-string his electric guitar and put his old studio back together… with some new technology and attitude.
The Two Old Goats germinated in 2006 and within 10 months, the album “Island Standard Time” was born.
Island Standard Time is a quirky collection of 11 original songs that focus on the living and life on Vancouver Island. Charlie and Colin sing, play the guitar, bass, keyboards and assorted instruments. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did producing and recording it!
